Beneath your desires and tears lies an ineffable stillness. You have known it once, or just yesterday, and found in it solace and peace. You may call this stillness God, Love, the Holy Spirit, Truth or Ultimate Reality, or you may call it nothing at all. But when you touch it, you remember that you are okay and all will be well. Your turmoils cease, confusion lifts, and you begin to get a sense where you need to be going as you are solving the mysteries of your life.
Though this stillness may seem far away when you are hurting, it is nearer than you think. You are made of it. Connecting with stillness is an important part of effective therapy. It is also an important part of my own life. To move toward stillness, I share my personal practices of meditation and yoga in therapy, and invite you to slow down and listen. Anything is possible from here.
