Yoga Therapy

Invitation

Please take a moment and notice your body.

How are you sitting in your chair? ... Do you feel your breath? ... Does your body have a reason to be here – in front of this screen?

It brought you here after all. Your feet moved you to the chair you are sitting in; your legs, hands and fingers carried you to this place in time, right here. Do you know why your body is here?

Now think of a situation in your past that gave you an sense of peace. Maybe it was a place in nature, or a beautiful piece of music – think of something that was deeply nourishing and comforting to you.

Let yourself go to that place, look around. Notice the hour of day, the colors, any sounds.

What does your body look like? Are you sitting, laying down or standing?

Are your eyes open or closed?

Can you feel your breath? What is it like?

Take notice. You are breathing in. You are breathing out ... in a quiet, simple rhythm. There is nothing you need, nothing you want, for you are receiving all you ever need and want. Your breath is bearing witness.

You are breathing in, you are breathing out. There is harmony and completion.

Now come back into the present, and into your present body. Listen to your breath. Call upon its witnessing.

Your breath remembers. It was there.
