Invitation

Moving through great loss and grief is like being swept up by a terrifying natural force. We feel helpless, victimized and utterly vulnerable, and at its darkest moments there seems to be nothing that can save us from the blinding and suffocating grip of pain we are suffering. Feelings of deep pain, fear, despair and grief leave their imprint in every cell of our bodies – constricting the breath, freezing the limbs, shutting down the stomach, clawing the heart.

When our heart grieves, our body grieves. When our body grieves, it protects our heart from bottomless pain, and keeps it in safe captivity. But the heart can't stay in confinement for ever, its nature is to keep beating, and to be free. It will keep asking for release, but to loosen the strain on your heart we first need to give the body permission to let go.

Yoga allows you to gently and safely approach the trauma locked in your body, and give the heart permission to heal. Under the guidance of your breath you will move at your own pace towards integration and release, freeing yourself from grief and deep sorrow, one heartbeat at a time.
