Lust is life remembering play,
Shouting YES! when mind says pay
First your dues to time and age
Locked up in a golden cage
Where each answer has its place
In the homo sapiens race.

Lust is going for the kill
Every fear inducing pill
Tries to feed me in the name
Of unworthiness and shame,
Starving out my right to know
The dimension my soul.

Lust is flipping off the grey
Rainy weather, saying hey,
Let’s pretend I am a peach,
Or a goddess here to teach
That you are more than the sum
Of responsibilities’ humdrum.

Lust is touching sappy growth
Breaking through an old tree’s oath
To awake anew each spring
Eager for another fling
With the singing birds and bees
On earth’s temporary lease.
